Rome

We've arrived! There is something special to me about Italy, and I'm loving it! You can just feel the age of some of the buildings and roads here.

It was in the 90s when we arrived, and supposed to be this warm as sunny all week. We'll need to dress cool and stay hydrated. There's a lot to see and our feet are still recovering from England and France, so have to be mindful.

We arrived via easyJet, essentially the Southwest airlines of Europe. We paid €1.50 for a mini bottle of water on the plane. More if you wanted a soda. But who cares - they got us here in 1:40h.

Amanda was less than thrilled we were getting on a regional train from the Divinci airport to Roma Termini in the center of Rome (30 min), but it was cheaper and shorter than a cab, and more adventurous!

Dinner isn't typically eaten until around 8p, so we relaxed at our hotel, then walked in the neighborhood towards a restaurant we had read about on Tripadvisor; DoDo.

Along the way we stumbled upon a little plaza with a fountain just across from Santa Maria ai Monti church, where people would buy beer from nearby shops and hang out. We did the same (I picked a beer that everyone else was buying) and we enjoyed people watching!

Looking down the road, you could see the Coliseum in the distance. Breathtaking.
