Shopping in the city

Yesterday we went to Union Square and met a friend who was in town for lunch. Afterwards Chris waited patiently while I tried on a gazillion different dresses at a gazillion different shops in an effort to find something stylish to wear to the baby shower.

Why is maternity clothing so ugly? Just because you're pregnant doesn't mean you suddenly want to look like a huge blob covered in some giant out of date print from the 90s... or even worse, like you're wearing a prom dress that's gone horribly wrong.  I know the proportions of a pregnant woman reach a humorous stage, but is it really that hard to make something flattering and reasonably on trend?  Ok, rant over.... we did finally find a nice dress. :-)
